Агентство DARPA заключило контракт с Nortrop Grumman и Университетом Центральной Флориды на разработку VR-гарнитуры с искусственным интеллектом, предназначенной для обучения пилотов боевых вертолетов алгоритмам действий в чрезвычайных ситуациях.
В отличие от пилотов гражданских самолетов, выполняющих в полете, по сути, контролирующие функции, военным летчикам приходится действовать в постоянно меняющейся, и зачастую экстремальной обстановке, реагировать на множество различных сигналов и команд.
Один из разделов программы DARPA подразумевает создание прототипа интуитивного помощника для тренировки контекстно-адаптивного мышления (OCARINA). Он разрабатывается в качестве тренажера пилотов вертолетов UH-60 Blackhawk. Как известно, им приходиться действовать в любое время суток, в любую погоду и любых полетных ситуациях, ориентируясь с помощью приборов, а иногда и только визуально.
Тренажер транслирует «картинку», которую обычно видит пилот в полете. Ее дополняют система расширенной обработки информации и интерфейс дополненной реальности в VR-гарнитуре. Через нее пилоты смогут поддерживать связь, обмениваться командами, текстовыми сообщениями и переговариваться между собой, как в реальной обстановке.
