Если закачать в гибкий баллон жидкость под давлением, а потом открыть вентиль, давящая сверху вода выдавит ее обратно, прокачивая поток через отсек с турбинами.
По расчетам специалистов КПД такой установки достигает 70-80 %. В ней используется безопасная для деталей пресная вода, которая крутится по замкнутому циклу между бетонным бассейном и надувным баллоном. На одну установку потребуется 20 тыс. кубометров воды, чтобы накапливать до 10 МВт⋅ч. Срок службы накопителя оценивается в 20 лет, их можно объединять в комплексы и масштабировать по необходимости.
