Ведущая китайская поисковая система Baidu запускает сервис роботакси Apollo Go в крупнейших мегаполисах страны, включая район Наньшан (г. Шэньчжэн) с населением в 13 млн. человек, а также Пекин, Гуанчжоу и Шанхай.
Сервис вначале будет доступен через специальное приложение Baidu Apollo Go, которое распространяется на 50 станций, охватывающих наиболее загруженные транспортные артерии Шэньчжэня с 9 до 17-00 часов.
Всего к 2025 году Baidu намерена охватить сервисом 65, а к 2030 году — уже около сотни городов. О монополии в данном случае говорить не приходится, поскольку у Baidu несколько серьезных конкурентов — в частности, Auto X, предлагающая поездки на автомобилях-беспилотниках.
В США подобные услуги оказывают Waymo One и GM Cruise. Однако по объему услуг Baidu намного опережает их. Весь вопрос в том — сможет ли китайский поисковик сохранить лидерство на новом для себя рынке.
